Day 6 You: A Love Poem (TBT 2008)

Reunion
A look; merely a glint.
A sigh; merely a breath.
A touch; merely a brush.
Two shoulders in passing do meet.
A hug and then again reclaiming
mapping the separation of a friend.
The gestures of platonic encounters
masking romantic intent.
Innocent question marks inflated by longing
struggling, grasping, aching:
Devising a means to request.
The turn of you lips
The smell of your skin
Familiar yet so new
My fingers reflexive; extend
Aching to feel you are real.
Natural as laughing to reach out;
to carelessly take hold of your hand.
The squeeze travels to  my chest,
a warmth spreads out from there.
Reason's excuses pushed away
banished by a breath of calming air.
I'm coming home.
I'm in your arms.
Soft and Strong and Deep
The words you speak
massage the pain,
the kinks of How? and Why?
Not to mention Where? and When?
What? is easy...
You and I connected.
Years and constellations wrapped up in this:
The simple act,
an answer
in a solitary kiss.
