Just a small obsession,

Repetitive behavior

scanning, scrolling, brick breaking, patterning.

Line em up, knock em down!

More mindless distraction

sorting

shapes and colors instead of

pros and cons

shoulds and couldn’ts or won’ts.

Game over!

Wait

just one more mind-numbing

check-out.

11:00 pm

now midnight,

a distracted mind, but not calm enough for

sleep.

Eyes wide open, but not enough to power down and

think;  just

Be

In all the noise of unmade decisions and

possibility,

an answer is waiting

hiding in plain sight

A path is emerging

(take the next right)

Eyes droop almost ready for the sweet escape to

sleep.

Answers swimming through the fog of

dreams,

vanishing with the alarm clock’s sudden violent attack,

Pulling, dragging, pushing,

for a repeat

performance.
